Good book!

Tonight the girls and I were reading 12 Dancing Princesses.  We were at the part when Julian arrives at the palace for the first time and he's just gotten the job as the gardener for the bouquet gardens.  The princesses come to the garden to get their daily bouquet.  As the last princess, Jessamine, comes to get her bouquet, Julian and her meet each others' eyes and share a glance.  Then when Jessamine turns to walk away, she glances back over her shoulder and looks at him again.  She thinks Julian is handsome.  Okay, so there's the story.  While I was reading this, Brinnley got the biggest smile on her face and her cheeks were bright pink.  Then she said with this cute little giggle, "I really like this book!  It's good!"  Oh boy!

At dinner Brinnley told Chant about the book and she again got all smile and rosy cheeked.  Chant asked if he gave her the smolder.  The girls giggled and nodded.  So funny!

"The Party"

Tonight we read Lehi's Dream during scripture study.  This chapter is filled with symbolism.  I read a bit then stopped to ask them a question.  I asked what the mist of darkness meant.  Brinnley said that people at a party were pointing their fingers at those holding onto the iron rod.  Chant and I looked at each other with huge smiles.  She got it!  "The party" or the great and spacious building.  The whole chapter we were talking and explaining and asking questions.  It was amazing!  They got it!  They really got it.  Brinnley has been reading the scriptures on her own every day and she understood things from her own personal study, without us talking it through with her.  These kids are amazing!
